The European Commission (EC), together with OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development), launched on February 3rd a new edition of the EU Country Cancer Profiles, one of the milestones of the European Cancer Inequalities Registry.

The latest 2025 Country Cancer Profiles provide a comprehensive overview of cancer care, prevention, and inequalities across the 27 EU Member States, Norway, and Iceland. These reports, released every two years since 2023, offer critical insights into national and EU-wide cancer trends and the new edition is accompanied by a Synthesis Report, summarising and comparing the panorama at EU level.

A key feature of the 2025 edition is the Cancer Performance Tracker (CaPTr), which evaluates each country’s progress across essential cancer care domains, including prevention, early detection, care capacity, and care outcomes. By comparing national performance against EU benchmarks, CaPTr identifies national strengths and areas requiring improvement and attention. The Country Cancer Profiles emphasize the importance of reliable data-driven policymaking, helping governments allocate resources more effectively in the fight against cancer.
