Join the 1st European Cancer Mission Fair in Warsaw, Poland!

The inaugural European Cancer Mission Fair, an event organised by ECHoS project, in collaboration with the European Commission, will take place in Warsaw (Poland) from May 20th to 22nd, 2025. The first National Cancer Mission Hub (NCMH) in Europe will be launched, marking an important milestone in the implementation of the EU Cancer Mission, an initiative under the Horizon Europe research and innovation program.In the coming years NCMHs will be created in multiple countries to engage stakeholders from both public and private sectors in collaborative initiatives and dialogues on cancer.

The inaugural Cancer Mission Fair, a landmark event uniting voices in the European fight against cancer, will take place in Warsaw, Poland, from May 20th to 22nd, 2025. This groundbreaking event, themed “LAUNCH, ENGAGE, SYNERGISE!” as per each day of the event, will explore the power of stakeholders’ involvement, synergies to enhancing collaboration among EU projects, citizen and patient engagement, and celebrate innovative initiatives transforming cancer care and research at national level. Organised as part of the Establishing Cancer Mission Hubs: Networks and Synergies (ECHoS) project, in collaboration with the European Commission’s EU Cancer Mission, the fair aims to showcase real-life examples of meaningful collaboration and citizen-centred solutions in the fight against cancer.

On May 20th, the LAUNCH day will be marked by the launch of the Polish National Cancer Mission Hub, the first of its kind in Europe, in connection with the Annual Warsaw Oncology Day (at the Forteca Kręgliccy, Warsaw, and by invitation only).
During the ENGAGE day, May 21st, pressing topics on Citizen Engagement, with keynotes by Rowan Conway (Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change & the Environment), and by Isabel Mestre (City Cancer Challenge – C/Can). The European Cancer Organisation will launch the European Cancer Pulse Country Report for Poland, providing a general overview of the Polish cancer landscape and discussing it with patients and citizens in the room. In parallel, participants will be able to interact with representatives from different Polish Patient Organisations, including OnkoFitka Lidka and RAK n’ Roll, the umbrella network of European cancer patient organisations, WECAN, and engage in several hands-on workshops and booths.
The last SYNERGISE day, May 22nd, will be aligned with the NCMHs main objective to establish a dynamic and patient-centric ecosystem that unites Health & Care, Public Administration, Citizens & Civil Society, Business, Knowledge and Academia sectors, in addressing the entire cancer care pathway. It’s a dynamic half-day event, structured into two focused sessions designed to drive collaboration in three main topics: Prevention, Early Detection and Quality of Life. These sessions aim to facilitate dialogue on integrating outputs into the NCMH framework, share innovative approaches and drive actionable outcomes for real-world applications within NCMHs, while enhancing collaboration among EU projects to amplify the impact of EU Cancer Mission.
The second and third day of the event will occur at Centralny Dom Technologii, Warsaw, and will be live streamed on the ECHoS YouTube channel. Citizens, researchers, policymakers, and health professionals working on citizen and patient engagement are welcome to join us online and explore the power of citizen engagement and synergies to transform cancer care and research.
