ECHoS | Establishing of Cancer Mission Hubs: Networks and Synergies organised its first Knowledge Exchange event hosted by SCIENSANO, on April 15 and 16, 2024, in Brussels.

The Knowledge Exchange programme is part of ECHoS Work Package 2 and aims to facilitate the implementation of the Cancer Mission across various countries (Member States and countries associated with the Horizon Europe program) by stimulating share of best practices and experiences within the network.

As part of the event, participants had the opportunity to participate in a plenary meeting of the Belgian Mirror Group of the European Beating Cancer Plan (BE-EBCP) at SCIENSANO, taking an active role in the meeting. Here, Hugo R. Soares, co-coordinator of ECHoS project, participated in a roundtable dedicated to different European projects sharing the European vision for the creation of National Cancer Mission Hubs, as well as their mission, purpose, and the challenges and opportunities in implementing the Hubs.

Noteworthy, in addition to the central role in the implementation of Cancer Mission, NCMHs should also align to the European Beating Cancer Plan and National Cancer control plans to address priorities and needs in each country.
