20th December 2024
At the beginning of December, representatives of the ECHoS project from Norway, Ireland, Belgium, France, Netherlands, Italy, Portugal, Greece and Romania met in Oslo for a two-day knowledge exchange programme.
On day one at Oslo Cancer Cluster, each country shared insights on setting up National Cancer Mission Hub structures within their respective countries. The participants then took part in a stakeholder engagement workshop, sharing best practices and learnings from real-world examples. The day also included a Christmas networking lunch with actors of the Norwegian oncology milieu, followed by a tour of the Oslo Cancer Cluster facilities, featuring its Incubator and Innovation Park.
The focus on the second day was on citizen engagement and patient participation, with discussions organised at the Norwegian Cancer Society. The delegates learnt about the broad work done in Norway and shared experiences from their individual countries. The representatives also split off in working groups to perform SWOT analyses of their individual hubs, a session facilitated by the EBCP Belgium Mirror Group. A special highlight of the day was the visit to the Science Centre at the Norwegian Cancer Society.
